This Maple Old Fashioned is a sweet, smoky and bittersweet cocktail with notes of caramel and citrus.

Ingredients

  • 2oz Rum
  • 1/2oz Maple Syrup
  • 1/4oz Maraschino Liqueur
  • 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a rocks glass filled with ice and stir until chilled. Garnish with an orange peel.

Sam Thompson's Variation

Ingredients

  • 2oz Rum
  • 1/4oz Maple Syrup
  • 2 dashes Aromatic Bitters
  • Orange Peel (for garnish)

Instructions

  • In a mixing glass, combine rum, maple syrup, and aromatic bitters with ice.
  • Stir well until the outside of the glass feels cold.
  • Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube.
  • Express the oil of an orange peel over the drink, then garnish with the peel.
